Usually begins with a meditation. Rum is trained in a Meisner Technique to bravely acces uglier parts of one's soul, while turning it into something magnetic and ocassionally pleasant to the eye.
Then it's sitting in front of the artwork, taking it in and following the impulses that allow you to form shapes and colours from something that didn't even existed seconds ago.

On days thats I find quite challenig I would go through my photos or websides trying to find something that resonates with me.
More often than not it's just sitting in front of an empty canvas untill you can't be still anyomore and simply have to paint.
I like to have an outline for big canvases that I'm working on while adding details rather spontaniously. Sometines after a glass of wine ... or two.

Have you seen a play called Red by John Logan?
“ROTHKO: (Explodes) 'Pretty.' 'Beautiful.' 'Nice.' 'Fine.' That's our life now! Everything's 'fine'. We put on the funny nose and glasses and slip on the banana peel and the TV makes everything happy and everyone's laughing all the time, it's all so goddamn funny, it's our constitutional right to be amused all the time, isn't it? We're a smirking nation, living under the tyranny of 'fine.' How are you? Fine.. How was your day? Fine. How are you feeling? Fine. How did you like the painting? Fine. What some dinner? Fine... Well, let me tell you, everything is not fine!!
HOW ARE YOU?!... HOW WAS YOUR DAY?!... HOW ARE YOU FEELING? Conflicted. Nuanced. Troubled. Diseased. Doomed. I am not fine. We are not fine. We are anything but fine... Look at these pictures. Look at them! You see the dark rectangle, like a doorway, an aperture, yes but it’s also a gaping mouth letting out a silent howl of something feral and foul and primal and REAL. Not nice. Not fine. Real. A moan of rapture. Something divine or damned. Something immortal, not comic books or soup cans, something beyond me and beyond now. And whatever it is, it’s not pretty and it’s not fine...I AM HERE TO STOP YOUR HEART”

Rum is mostly attached to the canvases that took three years to work on ( over one year to paint), as to the journey it took me on during the creation process.
However I'm still suprised, but the new pieces that pop out and resonate with my soul rather spontaniously.
If you are reading this let me know, how do you know which one is your favourite?

Artwork must always be framed under glass to protect the paper, but without the contact between the two. Carton mount surrounding the artwork will protect it. The mount and the back should always be acid free. Preferably to be framed with Perspex sheet with UV filters. Make sure you use acid-free tapes.

Yes. If your offer is accepted, with the exception of special circumstances, you are required to go forward with the purchase. Your credit card will be charged with the final cost including shipping as displayed to you on the offer form.
We ask, out of respect for our artists, to please only make offers on artwork you are ready and willing to purchase should your offer be accepted.
Please note that although you can’t make another offer on the artwork, you’ll be able to purchase it at full price at a later time if it’s still available.

No, the artwork will not be placed on hold while you await a response. If you’ve submitted an offer on an artwork, please be advised that it will still be available for sale at full price, and another collector will be able to purchase the artwork at any time.
Also, multiple offers can be submitted for the same artwork at the same time, so we encourage you to always submit your BEST offer first rather than wait for a possible counter-offer from the artist.
